- Pumped Hydro Storage: Pumped hydroelectric storage is one of the most efficient large-scale energy storage solutions available today. It involves pumping water from a lower reservoir to an upper reservoir when excess energy is available and releasing it through turbines to generate electricity when needed. It can store vast amounts of energy and has high efficiency.
- Battery Energy Storage: Lithium-ion batteries and other advanced battery technologies are efficient for storing and releasing electricity quickly. Large-scale battery farms can be used for grid-level energy storage. Their efficiency depends on the specific battery chemistry and design.
